Bringing Back The Past: Jeremiah Trotter

with one comment

Over Jeremiah Trotter’s 10 year career, which 7 seasons were with the Eagles, he proved to be a dominating force in the middle of a defense. He was a leader on the field and in the locker room, and played the game with an intensity that other players fed off of. Although, Trotter has been out of the game since ’07.

Guess who’s back.

After losing their starting MLB Stewart Bradley to a season ending ACLJeremiah Trotter injury, and lacking all around depth in the middle, the Eagles brought LB Jeremiah Trotter in for a workout. All indications were that the Eagles were pleased with what they saw, and would be crazy not to consider bringing Trotter back to Philly. Not only would Trotter bring depth to the line backing core, he would bring a run stopping force and leadership to this young defense.

In other old Eagles news, T Jon Runyan is still looking for a job. Quite frankly, I don’t know what the Birds have been waiting for. After losing T Shawn Andrews for the season, why not bring Runyan back? Especially since the Eagles may have lost Andrews for his career, because he’s too busy “gettin’ his Michael Phelps on.” Runyan has been a mainstay on the offensive line for many years, and would add depth and consistency.
