“The Kill” hits another homerun

Hall of Famer, Harmon Killebrew, has now spoken the words that I, and many others, have been dying to hear from an old school slugger. Killebrew said,  “As far as I’m concerned, Hank Aaron is the all-time home run champ, and Roger Maris should still have the single-season record at 61, but Barry Bonds is the name you see in the record book.”

This is the absolute correct position to take on steroids in baseball. It is what I have believed since Bonds was first accused, along with A-Rod and Manny Ramirez. Specifically, Killebrew addressed Ramirez by saying, “It’s a shame to see Manny’s name above Mick’s (Mickey Mantle) in the record books.” “The Kill” is absolutely right. Anyone that has tested positive for steroids should have nothing more then the statistics on the back of his baseball card, and nothing in the record books.

Killebrew also spoke about the anonymous 2003 steroid test. “Throw the names out there. “I would think the players who were clean should be telling the union to make the list public. To have the names piddling out there is ridiculous. That’s the only way to clear the air and really put this stuff behind baseball.” Once again, Harmon speaks the truth. How can baseball move on without knowing who did what? If those questions are never answered, it will only linger in the minds of baseball fans forever.
